Laurel

The laurel tree, grown in Turkey’s Mediterranean and Aegean regions, has been known for its medicinal and aromatic uses since ancient times. In our country, the Laurus nobilis variety is commonly cultivated. Laurel leaves are primarily harvested and dried for use as a spice in kitchens. Additionally, laurel leaves contain essential oils and other natural components, making them valuable in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. Turkey’s fertile soil and climate enhance the quality of laurel leaves, making them sought after worldwide. Laurel leaves, dried to high standards, are packaged in various forms for export, adding a unique flavor and aroma to global cuisines.
