Sage

Sage, one of Turkey’s natural riches, is especially grown in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions. Known scientifically as Salvia officinalis, sage has been recognized for its medicinal and aromatic uses for centuries. In Turkey, the wild sage (Salvia triloba) and the shrub sage (Salvia fruticosa) varieties are commonly cultivated. Sage leaves are carefully harvested, dried, and processed for use in various industries. Rich in essential oils, flavonoids, and antioxidants, sage is beneficial for health. It is also widely used in cosmetic products, perfumes, and herbal teas. Turkey’s climate and soil quality support the unique aroma and nutritional properties of sage, making it a valuable product in the global market.
